Kathy Leuck, President
Kathy joined the WADSO board in 2008 as a way to put into practice her beliefs in social justice issues. She works part-time as a registered nurse at the Breast Diagnostic Center. She and her husband moved to Fort Collins from IN in the fall of 2006. She is an accomplished artist who paints on both textiles and canvas. Other interests include reading, being outside, socializing with friends and visiting their 3 daughters and their families.

Ania George, Secretary
Ania joined WADSO in 2010. She practices allergy/immunology medicine in Colorado since 2009. She was born in Warsaw, Poland and has worked as a physician in Madagascar and Uganda. Her personal interests are in HIV and global medicine. She hopes that through WADSO she can raise awareness about health and child welfare in Africa. In her free time, Ania likes to spend time outdoors with her husband and their puppy.
John Nystrom, Coordinator of Events and Fund Raising
John is a founding member of WADSO and is currently is the coordinator of fundraising events for the Board for Directors. He received his MSW in Social Planning and Community Organization from the University of Michigan. When not involved with WADSO activities, John works as a Special Education teacher at Severance Middle School. Fine woodworking and hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park are two major interests outside John’s professional life. John has been married to Karen Mahakian, for 43 years.
Cindy Cloyd, Project coordinator for Madonna Hospital
Cindy is public health nurse with a specialty in maternal-child nursing. She works at the Larimer County Dept. of Health and Environment where she makes home visits to assess the health of new mothers and babies. She is also a faculty member at Regis University where she teaches nursing students. Cindy is a founding member of WADSO and a past president of this incredible organization. She is the project coordinator for Madonna Hospital in Umuahia Nigeria.
Mary Jo Krahn, Project coordinator for Sang Village Orphanage
Mary Jo, PhD, OTR is a Pediatric Occupational Therapist in private practice for 33 years treating children born premature or with neurological impairments. As an avocation, she enjoys traveling to other countries to work with children in orphanages and hospitals, generally accompanied by one of her four sons. It is these experiences that informed her interest in WADSO.
Lisel Brutlag Ruterbories
Lisel found her path, helping those who need it. As a Rotarian and Veterinary Medical Student at Colorado State University, she has chosen to devote her life to helping others, humans and animals alike. Lisel took a round-about way to her current profession, from musician to horse trainer to paralegal to vet tech and now on her way to Veterinarian. She hopes to improve lives of pets and wildlife while maintaining her passion to help peoples within our Global Community through organizations like WADSO and Rotary.

Virginia is an adult educator, formerly at Regis University in the Adult Learning, Training, and Development Program for graduate students. She is a former Registered Medical Technologist, Author, Developing Intercultural Communication Skills. Other interests include community voluntary service, genealogy, felt making, pine needle basketry, and grand parenting.
Becky Orsi
Becky is delighted to be a new member on the WADSO board. Serving with WADSO is a return to social justice involvement that Becky put aside when she started graduate school. Currently, Becky works as a researcher in the Schools of Education and Social Work at Colorado State University. In her free time, Becky loves to hike and camp with her husband and two children.
